Guildhall Gardens

Sunday 25th July at 2p.m. in the gardens at the Guildhall.

This event is part of our celebrations around 50 years of The Bury Society.

At last we have an opportunity to host an exclusive afternoon event for Bury Society members to gather in the lovely gardens of our historical Guildhall. A chance to relax and enjoy this green space in the heart of medieval Bury. Tables and seating will be in place for social distancing and in the event of rain, the downstairs rooms will be available to us.

Make this a special celebration by bringing your own special picnic, however grand or however modest and make this a special occasion.  What we can provide is tea, coffee, soft drinks – perhaps even a glass of wine and a slice of celebratory cake.

During the afternoon there will be an opportunity for a guided tour round the Guildhall bringing back to life some of the historical events and characters that the building has been witness to for over 800 years. We will also be recalling some of the milestones in the society’s 50 year history.

This is a FREE, exclusive event for Bury Society members and their friends.

As this event was organised with the uncertainty of Covid regulations in mind we may be restricted on numbers to provide members with the assurance that the afternoon can be enjoyed in safety.
