What of the Future?
The major aims of the Society include:
- protecting the town’s heritage buildings and the internationally important collections already being held by the Borough
- examining proposals for major changes in the town centre and, where appropriate, working to protect the townscape and environment
We are monitoring major developments including:
- Station Hill
- Tayfen Road
- Roy’s site
- Cattle Market
- the new Public Service Village
We look for good modern architecture and design for the benefit of the town.
We shall best achieve this and other work by continuing to increase our membership and by maintaining our good working relationships with English Heritage, the Bury Town Trust, the Bury Heritage Trust, the Suffolk Preservation Society, and the local authority.
