EAST OF ENGLAND ASSOCIATION OF CIVIC TRUST SOCIETIES
Our Heritage, Our Future
This is An event organised by the East of England Association of Civic Trust Societies in conjunction with the Civic Trust, English Heritage, RSA and Shape East.
We will discuss how the heritage and character of our towns can be preserved and adapted during a time of rapid expansion.
We will have three expert speakers: John Preston of the Institute for Historic Building Conservation will explain the how the system works, and Greg Luton, Regional Director, of English Heritage and Barry Shaw of Essex County Council will describe how it is applied in the region.
We will then visit a brand-new shopping centre, to discuss whether it has succeeded in delivering a quality place while integrating with the surroundings of historic Bury St Edmunds
